On Monday night, Becky Lynch enlisted the help of Trish Stratus, Hall of Famer, to even the odds in her fight against Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL. Lynch and Lita faced off against IYO SKY and Dakota Kai for the women’s tag team titles on Raw, and Stratus made a triumphant return to the ring to help Lynch and Lita take on the Damage CTRL trio.
Stratus was able to successfully eliminate Bayley, who had been trying to influence the match’s outcome throughout. With the score even again, Lita and Lynch were able to secure a victory and dethrone Damage CTRL as tag team champions, making way for a potential WrestleMania showdown.

Trish Stratus returns to help Lita & Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch & Lita became the new Women’s Tag Team Champions after a hard-fought match against Damage CTRL (c). The match was nearly over when Bayley caused a distraction at ringside by sliding a title belt into the ring. As the referee removed it, Bayley ran around the ring and pulled Lita off the ring apron to prevent a hot tag.
Lynch managed to kick out of the pin that followed before Trish Stratus’ music hit and she ran to the ring to take out Bayley. Lynch then made the hot tag to Lita, who got in some offense before moving out of the way of an IYO SKY moonsault. Stratus again took out Bayley and Lynch locked Dakota Kai in an armbar on the ring apron while Lita hit SKY with a moonsault to score the win and capture the titles.
No disrespect to an important figure in the history of American women’s wrestling, but Lita’s return to the ring clearly shows a lack of practice and an abundance of ring rust. Nonetheless, WWE is likely to find a way to make the inevitable six-woman tag match involving Damage CTRL, Lita, Lynch, and Stratus work well enough. Furthermore, it was a touching moment for Lita and a great way to make the Women’s Tag Team Championships more relevant. Overall, the match was decent.
